Support and emulator setup

Interplanetary maps Internet collections into a folder that desktop applications can read. Emulators, games and BIOS files are supplied separately.

Windows Store setup

  1. Open Interplanetary - Internet Drive from Start and leave its terminal window running.
  2. Paste an IPFS collection link, Internet Archive item link or HTTP JSON manifest URL. Ordinary website directory listings are not supported.
  3. Type open to browse the drive in File Explorer. Its default path is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Interplanetary\Drive.
  4. Select a collection inside that folder in your emulator. Keep saves, patches and artwork outside the imported folder.

The menu supports sources, status, open and quit. Initial preparation and uncached reads depend on the origin, peers and your connection. Library scanning may download substantially more content than opening one file.

Offline use and advanced commands

In PowerShell, find the installed tools with $tools = (Get-AppxPackage Shokunin.Interplanetary-InternetDrive).InstallLocation, then Set-Location $tools. Run .\interplanetary.exe root and .\interplanetary.exe ls <entry-id> to locate entries. Use .\interplanetary.exe keep <file-id> or .\interplanetary.exe keep-folder <folder-id> and wait for acquisition before disconnecting. Use .\interplanetary.exe storage to inspect cache use.

Before uninstalling

Keep needed files offline, then quit the app. From PowerShell in the installed tools directory, run .\interplanetary-win.exe -unregister -root "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Interplanetary\Drive" before uninstalling through Windows Settings. Shared app data is preserved. Uncached placeholders require the running provider; uninstalling does not download them.

Troubleshooting

Check desktop.log under the Windows app-data directory for startup errors. Close and reopen a file if its source changed while it was open. Content availability and transfer speed depend on external sources. See the portable Mac/Linux/Windows instructions for other installations.

When reporting a problem, include your OS, app version and a short reproduction. Remove private filenames, URLs and personal information from logs. Never send engine.json, IPFS identity configuration, passwords or tokens.
