Copyright and abuse reports

Interplanetary supports lawful access to and sharing of files. It does not provide permission to copy or distribute another person's work. Please report suspected infringement or abuse involving our website or another service we control through the support contact.

Information to include

• Your name, contact details and authority to act for the rights holder.
• A description of the copyrighted work or other affected right.
• The exact URL of the material on a service we operate, and enough detail for us to locate it. A content identifier alone may refer to material available only from independent peers.
• An explanation of the alleged infringement or abuse, with relevant supporting information.

For a formal copyright notice, include a statement of your good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent or law; a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the rights holder; and your physical or electronic signature. Do not knowingly submit false claims.

What we can do

We review sufficiently specific reports about resources under our control and may remove or restrict material or service access where appropriate. If we operate an account-based service, repeat infringement may result in termination where appropriate. The desktop app does not require an Interplanetary user account.

For material hosted by a third-party website, contact that host. IPFS is a distributed network: we cannot erase content from independent peers or remove every copy associated with a content identifier. Removing a link or local copy does not remove copies elsewhere.

This page does not claim that we are registered as a DMCA designated agent or that any statutory safe harbor automatically applies. Statutory eligibility depends on the service and applicable requirements.
